Elastic, soft texture. I have square chairs and oval. Although they are made to fit better on a square chair, I like them more on my oval chairs because they are bigger (so the fabric is not loose and stays in place). On the square ones they make wrinkles... The only minus for oval chairs is that they, now, have ears but it's a simple adjustment. The green pattern is better, more vintage than the brown one. The colours have that "old" shading. I already washed them in the washing machine and they are fine. I am very happy with my purchase and I will buy more.
